Obituary for Michele L. Palmieri (DiCostanzi)

Michele L. Palmieri (DiCostanzi), 77 of Toms River, N.J. passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Born and raised in Newark, N.J. to the late James DiCostanzi and Marie Iannelli, she was a resident of Fairfield, N.J. for many years prior to settling in Toms River 14 years ago. She was a graduate of Arts High School in Newark, and a former parishioner of St. Lucy’s Church in Newark. An avid cook, Michele enjoyed shopping, especially QVC and HomeGoods, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.

Prior to retiring in 2000, she was a secretary for the Fairfield Police Department for 20 years.

Beloved wife of the late Michael Palmieri. Loving and devoted mother of Anthony Palmieri and wife Jacquelyn, Michael Palmieri II and wife Ida, and Dana Zuczek. Cherished grandmother of Michael III, Thomas, Vincent, Taylor, Anthony Jr., Michael, and Michele. Adored sister of Vincent DiCostanzi and late wife Sophia. Caring aunt of Marie, Natalie and Vincent. Dear sister-in-law of Mary Ann Ruocco. She is also survived by many loving cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her loving parents James and Marie DiCostanzi.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. A Funeral Mass is planned for Tuesday, January 17, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 26 Lakeside Avenue, Verona, N.J. 07044. Kindly meet at the funeral home after 9:00 a.m., prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.
