Obituary for Michael T. McConnell
Michael McConnell, 52, of Little Falls, NJ, passed away on December 6, 2021.
Born in Morristown, NJ to Lori and Tom McConnell, Michael spent most of his life in Montclair, NJ. He graduated from Montclair High School, attended William Paterson University and earned a Bachelor's degree from Felician College. His passion was music and he was a beloved member of the music community all of his life. He touched hundreds of lives with his compassion, loyalty, righteousness, spontaneity and humor. A hard worker starting with his first paper route at the age of 11, Michael held many positions including drummer, sound engineer, waiter, driver, life coach and drum instructor. He himself studied under jazz master Joe Morello for many years.
Left to mourn him and cherish his memory are his mother, Lorelei (Philibert) McConnell and his father Thomas McConnell; his sister, Catherine (Jonathan Shailor) McConnell; nephew, Isaac Shailor; partner in music and the universe, Paula Gorney; three uncles, Douglas (Barbara Babcock) McConnell, Andrew (Bobbi) McConnell, and Alvin Philibert; three cousins; and too many friends to count.
