Obituary for Marlene M. Habermann (Namphy)

Marlene M. Habermann, 79 of Parsippany, N.J. passed away at home surrounded by her loving family.

Marlene was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Roger Namphy and Lucie Pierre. Raised in Haiti and Detroit, educated in Montreal, Canada and settled in Queens, N.Y. before moving to New Jersey in 1975. Marlene was a remarkable person who lived a life dedicated to serving others and making the world beautiful. She found true fulfillment as an esthetician for over 40 years- as owner of Elle Et Lui Salon and Salon de Paris, before becoming the Spa Director at Dieci Lifestyle Spa in Livingston in 1996. Her positive spirit and unwavering commitment to her profession serves as a lasting reminder of the joy that can be found in pursuing one’s true calling. Marlene was a devoted parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Parsippany.

Predeceased by her devoted husband, Werner Habermann, her parents, and four siblings, she is survived by her loving children, Max Etienne, Tania Habermann Flynn and her husband, Thomas F. Flynn, Jr., Kurt Habermann and his wife, Jennifer, step-son Eric Habermann and his wife, Michelle; cherished grandchildren, Tyson Etienne, Olivia and Mason Habermann and Edison Flynn; siblings, Edner, Margaret, Carole, James, Tricia, Roger, Louis, and Ramon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. at Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Church, Parsippany, N.J. with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E.
