Obituary for Mario G. Romano
Mario G. Romano, Esq., 83, of Denville, N.J., passed away on January 15, 2023. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, 359 Central Ave., North Caldwell, N.J. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Joseph and Carmen Romano, he lived in Verona, N.J., Essex Fells, N.J. and North Caldwell, N.J. before recently settling in Denville. He also had residences in Scottsdale, Arizona and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. An attorney, he practiced in Verona for 49 years before retiring. Professionally, he was a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association, and the Essex County Bar Association. He was a past president of the Seton Hall Alumni Association, the Verona Chapter of the Italian American Club, the Verona Chapter of UNICO National, and the Columbus Citizens Foundation in New York.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Janet B. Romano; loving daughters, Dr. Gabriella Romano and Franca Romano Elkaim, and her husband, Philippe Elkaim; cherished grandchildren, Evangeline Lisk, Viviana Lisk, Marcel Elkaim, and Nico Elkaim.
