Obituary for Marianne Giordano (Cullen)
Marianne Giordano, 64 of Verona, N.J. passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Born in Newark, N.J. to Peter and Rosemary (nee Ahern) Cullen, she’s been a longtime resident of Verona. For 42 years Marianne has been a devoted private duty and pediatric ICU nurse. When not working, she enjoyed spending time down the Jersey Shore in Ocean Beach 3 with her family, especially her grandchildren. One of her favorite places to visit was Positano, Italy. She loved Positano so much she named the family dog, Posie.
Predeceased by her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of almost 40 years, Louis Giordano; children, Michelle Nuñez and her husband, Wilson and Matthew Giordano and his wife, Alyssa; grandchildren, Mason and Haven; siblings, Peter Cullen, Jr., Deborah Cullen and Barbara Cullen and close family friends Susan, Nicholas and Michael Abbondolo.
Funeral services will begin on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove. Entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover, N.J. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
In lieu of flowers, Marianne had a special request that family and friends support a neighboring family who are all too familiar with brain tumors.
