Obituary for Edward K. Kwak
Edward K. Kwak, Ph.D., 83, of Little Falls, N.J., formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
Despite an intensely arduous and difficult experience as an immigrant from South Korea in the 1960’s, Ed built a beautiful, classic American-dream life for his family, with tenacity, grit, and humility. Gentle of spirit, pure and kind of heart, and unwaveringly strong and steady of purpose, he was his family’s rock, its anchor. His sacrifices created a life of abundance, and exemplified the value of hard work animated by profound love. He had a delightfully sparkly sense of humor and wit, and a transcendent kindness and goodness that touched all who were privileged to get to know him.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jenny L. Kwak, and is survived by his loving and devoted son, Paul E. Kwak, MD.
A graveside service will be offered on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Upper Montclair, N.J. Arrangements are under the direction of Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove, N.J. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
