Obituary for Doug Giblin
Doug Giblin, 76, of Cedar Grove, N.J., passed away on January 19, 2023. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 22 from 2-6 p.m. at Shook''s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. Services begin on Monday, January 23 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove, with mausoleum entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Born in Orange, N.J. to the late James and Jean Giblin, Doug lived in Maplewood before settling in Cedar Grove. He was a stationary engineer with Local 68 prior to retiring. A lifelong volunteer, he was a member of the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department and the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Catherine''s where he served as a eucharistic minister and a funeral mass server.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Jo-Ann Giblin (nee: Romano); loving daughter, Jean Ann Giblin-Baker, and her husband, Mark; cherished granddaughter, Mackenzie Baker; dear brother, James Giblin, and his wife, Pat; and many cousins and friends.
