Obituary for Dorothea Novak (Ridge)
Dorothea Novak, 98 of Paterson, NJ passed away on Tuesday, April 18. 2023. Born and raised in Portland, ME prior to settling in Paterson many years ago. She was a former parishioner of St. Mary RC Church in Paterson and a was a dedicated member of their Rosary Society. An avid reader, Dorothea enjoyed cooking and knitting but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Prior to settling in New Jersey, she was a telephone operator with New England Bell in Portland, ME.
Beloved wife of the late Charles Novak. Loving and devoted mother of James Novak and wife Georgann, Patricia Dombrowski and husband Garry, Margaret Pryor and husband Richard and the late Joseph Novak. Cherished grandmother of Catherine and Christine Pryor, Laura Hicinbothem, Stephen and Lisa Dombrowski and Tara Novak. Dear great grandmother of Jordan, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Regan, Victoria, and Nathaniel.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9 - 11:00 a.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. A Funeral Mass is planned for Saturday, 11:30 a.m. at St. James RC Church, 32 St. James Place, Totowa, N.J. 07512. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa.
