Obituary for Carla W. Sabatino (Holly)
Carla W. Sabatino, 81 of Cedar Grove, N.J. passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
Born in Taylor, PA to John and Irene (nee James) Holly, she was raised in Newark and later moved to Bloomfield before settling in Cedar Grove. Carla worked as an EKG Department Supervisor first at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville then at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, a career that spanned over 30 years before her retirement in 2008. She enjoyed tending to her garden, shopping on QVC and playing Candy Crush. Above everything else, Carla enjoyed spending valuable time with her family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Predeceased by her parents, her brother, Thomas Holly, and daughter, Donna Sabatino, she is survived by her loving husband of 63 years this June, Joseph A. Sabatino; loving children, Debbie D''Anthony and her husband, Steven and Angela Loria and her husband, Tony; precious grandchildren, Joseph Riccardi and his fiancé, Chelsey, Hailey Berher and her husband, Kyle and Gus Loria; the apple of her eye, great granddaughter, Addison; caring sister, Jacqueline Tomasella; and nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove. Kindly gather directly at the church. Entombment will follow at Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Upper Montclair, N.J. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
