Obituary for Bennett P. Renda
Bennett P. Renda longtime resident of Cedar Grove, NJ passed away on March 7, 2023. He was 69 years old. Private services have been entrusted to Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
Bennett was born January 23, 1954 in Queens, New York to the late Peter Renda and Carmela Tita Renda. Bennett grew up in Bayside, Queens before settling in Cedar Grove.
He joined the U.S.Navy on July 15,1975 and served for four years and was honorably discharged on July 6,1979. He served as a photographer’s mate. Bennett’s interest in film grew. After leaving the Navy, Bennett attended the School of Visual Arts. He majored in film direction.
Prior to retiring, Bennett was a Photo Editor with the National Basketball Association located in Secaucus. Bennett had opportunities to travel and edit many of the basketball games with the National Basketball Association. He was an avid sports fan.
Bennett is preceded by his parents, Carmela and Peter Renda. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wai Kin Susan Renda; loving son, Alexander Renda; cherished sister, Maria Kieser, and her husband, Donald; and dear nephew, Christopher Kieser.
A memorial service will held on April 29, 2023 at their residence, 22 The Fairway, Cedar Grove, NJ 07009 from 1-5pm.
