Obituary for Anne Ercolano (Segreto)

Anne Ercolano, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother

Anne Ercolano, 99, of Cedar Grove and Lavallette, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023, from Covid complications. Anne was born to Maria (Cimmino) and Cono Segreto on August 8, 1923, in Harrison, N.J. Her family moved to Newark when she was four and she graduated from West Side High School. Anne married Thomas Ercolano in 1946 after his return from service in World War II. She was a Flaming Roller (roller skating club) with her sister and four best friends during the war years, when the neighborhood boys went overseas to fight. She maintained The Club friendships all her life through members'' weddings, births, children''s weddings and passings. She moved to Maplewood in 1955, where she and Tom raised their two children, Mary Louise and Thomas, Jr., and where she was active with the Bridge Club and St. Joseph Church Rosary Society. They enjoyed summers in Lavallette where they maintained a summer home throughout their married life and which Anne maintained after her husband''s death in 2005. Anne and Tom lived in Louisville, Kentucky from 1974 to 1977, where she enjoyed performing in Our Town and attending races at Churchill Downs. They returned to New Jersey and lived in Cedar Grove. Anne loved reading books and keeping up with the news by reading the Star Ledger every day. She loved listening to Linda Ronstadt and Neil Diamond and watching Murder She Wrote, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune.

Anne adored her children, Mary Louise Malyska (John) and Thomas Ercolano, Jr. (Paulette); her six grandchildren, Nicole Beadles, Anne Cooper (Darren), Zoe Weinstein (Jeffrey), Mary Flora Malyska (Nicole), Thomas Ercolano, III (Melissa), and Guy Martin Ercolano; and her nine great-grandchildren, Emilia, John, Cole, Charlotte, Harrison, Daniel, Nora, Benjamin, and Roman. They adored her in return, and she will be missed by all.
